I started my career in post
production on Mark Burnett’s reality TV show “Survivor” in Los
Angeles as post production PA’s in 2006. Please refer to the
reference letter from James Caniffe, the executive producer. I have
been fortunate enough to learn from one of the best reality TV
storytellers. He is now Vice President of Sony Tellevision in Culver
City, Los Angeles.

“Shareyourbeauty.com” Solavie/Servana 2009
Just before I came back to South
Africa I was one of 5 cameramen shooting the prelaunch and
interviews of Shareyourbeauty.com, which was held at the V Lounge in
Santa Monica California. The event was sponsored by Solavie and
Servana.com. The evening highlighted inspiration, generocity and the
joy of giving back to one’s community featuring Brian Holloway
(NFL); Rainbeau Mars (Addidas); Montre Burton (Host); Erica Ash (Mad
TV); Dinesh Chandrasena (Fashion Designer). Event Producers were
Josh Johnson and Barry Plaskow.
Sound Operator “Tame my
spouse” USA EMB – Row 2009
This reality tellevision show
compares the similarities in behaviour between wild animals and
their young to humans and their children and how we can learn from
these and apply it to our own lives. The show is in post production
at Sony Studios, New York, with Embassy Row. Reference - Michael

Wildlife Warriors TV: I started out
digitizing and logging 400 hours of HD and DV footage. Following a
script for 10 episodes, I organized all the footage needed in bins
and edited 3 hour rough cuts for each episode. This I refined to 5,
15 minute sequences for episode 1 and 2. From this I cut a promo
that was shown to potential buyers re; Animal Planet, Nat Geo,
History Channel, Authentic Entertainment and Renegade. The show is
now in final post with Renegade (Blind Date and Gone Country).

Assistant editor/prod “Gone
Country” USA CMT 2008
Gone Country is an American
celebrity reality television show in which contestants compete to
become a country music singer. The winner gets a country single
produced by John Rich. It aired on CMT, with reruns on TV Land, and
VH1. On the first season finale, Julio Iglesias Jr. was named the
winner.
In this 2 month internship I assisted
senior editor Dan Tivven and senior producer Anneli G. Please refer
to my reference letter and reel where I edited a scene in Act 1
between Tara Conner (Miss USA) and George Clinton (Father of Funk
Music).

Survivor is a reality
television game show format produced in many countries throughout
the world. In the show, contestants are isolated in the wilderness
and compete for cash and other prizes. The show uses a system of
progressive elimination, allowing the contestants to vote other
tribe members until only the final contestant remains and wins the
title of “Sole Survivor”. The show is credited for making reality
television a popular TV genre.
I was responsible for meeting crucial
deadlines assisting production co-ordinator, producers and editors.
